NetBSD-5 against my DVD/CD drive

NetBSD-5 (netbsd-5 branch) doesn't like my DVD/CD drive.

It "works" like this:
- I mount dvd and it is mounted correctly.
I'm able to read files from it and so on.
- umount succeeds but I cannot eject CD from it.
- In /var/log/messages I see the following

  Dec 12 20:17:41 chen /netbsd: cd0(viaide0:1:0): Sense Error Code 0x44

I also see the same message in dmesg(8) output

What's happening and to fix the problem?
dmesg is below.
