I'm having a strange keyboard issue in X. I log into a server (also
netbsd) using ssh, and run centericq. In console mode, no problem. In
an xterm, the down-arrow key doesn't work. The down arrow key does
work in other apps (e.g., pine). Is this a mapping problem?

Is there something I need to do to make X use the same mapping as
wscons?

centericq is evil. ISTR, it sets escape delay to zero, or something
equally stupid. I had the same problem under xterm on an i386.

Should have mentioned this in my previous post but forgot: I tested in an xterm (using the same wm) on my i386 netbsd install, and it works fine.

I agree centericq is seriously flaky, but is there an alternative text-mode IM client for netbsd that will work with yahoo messenger?

Anyway, still looking for suggestions for a workaround on the keyboard issue.
