Olimex A20 lime2: USB detached and rescan fails

I don't know if the behavior is specific to Arm, and, specially, to this
SoC.

An Arm node (Olimex A20 lime2), running NetBSD 9.2, is used for an
off-site backup.

The disk is external, in an USB enclosure, and connected to an USB 2.0
socket (EHCI).

While doing the backup, one of the dedicated partitions went full ("no
space left on device). The error led to the umass being detached and
---it is on uhub3---:

drvctl -r -a usbifif uhub3

or

drvctl -r -a usbdevif uhub3

does nothing (these incantations are taken from the current NetBSD man
page and don't exist in the 9.2 one; so I don't even know if they can
yield some result on a 9.2 system---but there is no error displayed).

Has someone experienced such thing (perhaps not only on Arm)? And is
there a cure instead of rebooting or a physical intervention
(unplugging, replugging)?

TIA,
