Re: RPI3 sd lockups?



I have a SSD on my main machine, for more than 5 years, no problems.

I didn't realize pretty much all the RPi can boot from USB disk now https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/hardware/raspberrypi/bootmodes/msd.md

SSDs have very long lives by the MTBF.  I have a couple, may get more.  My Intel ones should last 180+ years by the MTBF.  I've got one in a USB adapter from new egg.

I very much second this...  and have seen it happen when a forced fsck
on what should have been a clean filesystem produced errors.
