Window Manager Problem

This appends my most recent posting about window manager problems I'm having
with NetBSD 1.1. I'll try to make my question more succinct. What do FVWM and
CTWM look for that TWM and AmiWM don't? Since I reinstalled the entire X11R6
package, and FVWM and CTWM still don't function, is there something outside
the /usr/local/X11R6 path that they need?
