pkgin says gnuit supersedes git

I'm using pkgsrc on macOS (uname -r: 23.6.0) with binary packages from
pkgsrc.smartos.org. When I try to upgrade packages, I keep encountering
the following odd behavior:

$ sudo pkgin upgrade
calculating dependencies...done.

1 package to install:
  gnuit-4.9.5nb1

1 package to remove (superseded):
  git-2.49.0

1 to remove, 0 to refresh, 0 to upgrade, 1 to install
0B to download, 1501K of additional disk space will be used

proceed ? [Y/n]

It seems that gnuit was formerly named "git", which might be causing this.
However, I already have a recent version of git installed, so this doesn't
seem correct. Any ideas what's going on?
