Re: crazy resource requirements for thunderbird?

This just seems crazy; 32 GB is enormous, and firefox is fine in much
less space.

Are other people seeing this? Is there anything to be done to have the
build use a reasonable amount of space? (Yes, I know I could use a tmp
on real ssd for this.)

Not an exact answer, but my tmpfs are much smaller than yours, and so I have an override for certain packages to use disk-backed WRKOBJDIR as they no longer fit in tmpfs:

  https://github.com/TritonDataCenter/pkgbuild/blob/master/include/wrkobjdir.mk

mail/thunderbird* has been in there from the beginning, so yeh it seems reasonable that it has grown a lot further since then.
