The idea is that you're not supposed to use xf86-video-intel,
that's why there hasn't been releases for ages. Every time we
update it, there's some fallout with older chips not working.
Intel is fully on the modesetting/Wayland train.

Try the following in xorg.conf:

Section "Device"
        Identifier      "Card0"
        Driver          "modesetting"
