As I had mine launched from a GUI menu (fvwm), ~/.xsession-errors did
not contain anything I could associate with the crash.

I've since reverted to firefox-47.0nb1 (pkgsrc-2016Q2) and it has so-far
been trouble-free.

One annoying thing that has occurred is that there are a couple of
crucial (for me) web sites I can no-longer access. They should present
a secure login widget but the additional components it needs are never
loaded. It worked fine last month (still using firefox-47 at the time).
NoScript was disabled with no change in behavior. A Linux system with
firefox-46 and later firefox-49 (with NoScript installed and active)
works just fine.

I tried playing with the UserAgent stuff, but that had no effect.
