Nah, it's not a dumb question; that's totally valid. I am, in fact, doing 
that. However, perhaps I forgot or something at just the wrong time. I can 
say that I've noticed (because I run that command by hand) that there are 
very very few updates over the lifespan of any given pkgsrc quarterly 
release - sometimes there seem to be none past the initial release. That's 
why I speculated about the de-sync between CVS and pkgin's repo in any 
given quarterly release.
