Doesn't pkgin rebuild its database from a remote file, the one listed
in pkgin.conf? How does pkgin become aware of locally installed
packages?

Does pkgin run "pkg_admin rebuild" or "pkg_admin rebuild-tree" by
default? If not, is it a good idea to run the above mentioned commands
or does it make any difference?
