several packages fail to download from some server, because the proxy-setup is ignored.
After a timeout another server is selected and there the proxy-setup is honored again.

e.g.

It looks like this is always the case, when a port number is specified.

build e.g. mplayer from pkgsrc. You will see this behaviour several times at various packages.
