 pkg_admin rebuild-tree
 
 appears to have corrected any problems I had on x86_64 DragonFly
 3.1-DEVELOPMENT.  As I had pkg_delete-ed recursively dependencies on
 akonadi and boost-libs, I cannot say for certain whether that would
 have solved the problem on NetBSD amd64; however, I believe the
 solution would have worked on that platform as well.  I consider the
 problem to be solved.
