Can you give me the command line you used to bootstrap... I always use
the default paths, so maybe that has something to do with the problem?

When you say re-bootstrap pkgsrc with 2011Q1 do you mean that you are
starting with a blank system, or are a bunch of packages still
 installed?
I've been starting from a cleaned system... maybe there is a conflict
with something already installed? do you have any reasonable way try
and reproduce this on a fresh system?
