 That's what I guessed.  If you go talk to the SBCL people about it, 
 their response is pretty much "Well don't do that, we don't really 
 support CLisp bootstrapping."  Like I put in the makefile, it worked
 a few times for me, and didn't several times with errors like you got.
 
 For now, I would recommend getting 
 ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/misc/jonb/sbcl-1.0.11.tgz  (hope I got 
 that right...) and using that to build.  I want to get the package to 
 use a previous package build to do the heavy lifting, but haven't quite 
 gotten there yet...
