Announcing the pkgsrc-2026Q2 branch

The pkgsrc developers are proud to announce pkgsrc-2026Q2 the 91st
quarterly release of pkgsrc, the cross-platform packaging system.
pkgsrc contains over 29,000 packages. More information on pkgsrc
is available at https://www.pkgsrc.org/.

Since the last release (2026Q1), 187 packages were added, 3072 were
updated (2004 distinct; 32 Go, 10 OCaml, 58 Perl, 3 PHP, 749 Python,
222 Ruby, 408 TeX), and 45 packages were removed.

Notable package additions were:
- bob, a pkgsrc parallel builder
Bob is a new tool that builds pkgsrc packages in parallel inside isolated
sandboxes. Drawing on 25 years of experience with tools like pbulk, pkg_chk,
and pkg_rolling-replace, it combines their capabilities and more into one
user-friendly tool that covers everything from local upgrades through to
full bulk builds and remote package publishing, with additional features
such as build history, dynamic MAKE_JOBS and WRKOBJDIR scheduling, a live
build log viewer, and development sandboxes for pkgsrc work all built in.

- New wayland category containing packages such as:
  - lxqt-wayland-session, which enables the use of LXQt under wayland
(Note: for NetBSD, this requires NetBSD >= 11 to work)
  - sway, a tiling Wayland compositor
  - xwayland, which allows running X11 applications in wayland

- depgraph, which prints a dependency graph of an installed pkgsrc package
(for Software Bill of Materials reporting)

- uutils-coreutils, a Rust implementation of GNU coreutils
- gurk, a Signal Messenger client for the terminal
- nchat, a multi-protocol terminal client (only Telegram is supported)
- avfs, a file system for compressed and network files
- gitlogue, cinematic Git commit replay tool for the terminal
- oracle-jdk25
- setrixtui, tetris Sand game
- brush-shell, a bash compatible shell written in Rust
- zellij, a featureful terminal multiplexer with plugin support

Notable package updates were:
- Rust 1.96, making us up-to-date with upstream releases
- LXQt 2.4.0, with initial wayland support
- Qt 6.11.1

Instructions on using the binary package manager can be found at
https://pkgin.net. pkgsrc itself can be retrieved via CVS, tar file, and
other mirrors. See https://www.netbsd.org/docs/pkgsrc/getting.html for
instructions. The branch name for the 2026Q2 branch is "pkgsrc-2026Q2".
