I don't have any experience with Ubiquiti switches. I rarely purchase
new hardware these days and get everything second hand from ebay that
has been decommissioned from some data center.

I used cheap unmanaged Netgear switches for years and never had any
issues. No VLANS or L3 features but the hardware is simple plug and
play and it just works.

For the same price as a new Unifi Ultra I got myself a decommissioned
Brocade ICX 7450-48 from ebay. I think I paid £99 for it, including
free delivery. This has everything I need for advanced networking but it
is loud and I only power it on when I need to use my SPARC servers.
