VMX and short packets

Is anyone else experiencing these errors after upgrading to amd64 V7.1.1 on
a VMWare box (ESXI 5.5).

vmx0: short packet (0)
vmx1: short packet (0)

Here are the interfaces:

vmx0: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
        capabilities=3d00<IP4CSUM_Rx,TCP4CSUM_Rx,TCP4CSUM_Tx,UDP4CSUM_Rx>
        capabilities=3d00<UDP4CSUM_Tx>
        enabled=3d00<IP4CSUM_Rx,TCP4CSUM_Rx,TCP4CSUM_Tx,UDP4CSUM_Rx>
        enabled=3d00<UDP4CSUM_Tx>
        ec_capabilities=3<VLAN_MTU,VLAN_HWTAGGING>
        ec_enabled=0
        address: 00:0c:29:ae:71:81
        media: Ethernet autoselect (10Gbase-T)
        status: active
        inet 2xx.1.1.100 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 2xx.1.1.255

vmx1: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
        capabilities=3d00<IP4CSUM_Rx,TCP4CSUM_Rx,TCP4CSUM_Tx,UDP4CSUM_Rx>
        capabilities=3d00<UDP4CSUM_Tx>
        enabled=3d00<IP4CSUM_Rx,TCP4CSUM_Rx,TCP4CSUM_Tx,UDP4CSUM_Rx>
        enabled=3d00<UDP4CSUM_Tx>
        ec_capabilities=3<VLAN_MTU,VLAN_HWTAGGING>
        ec_enabled=0
        address: 00:0c:29:ae:71:8b
        media: Ethernet autoselect (10Gbase-T)
        status: active
        inet xx.yy.162.136 netmask 0xfffffff0 broadcast xx.yy.162.143

This machine was amd64/6.1.5 prior but did not exhibit the issue.

I can't see any significant changes to vmx other than one callback change in
7.0.

We have a dual nic setup for this box and are receiving these periodically.
We are not actually sure what triggers the issue.

Interestingly We have amd64/7.1.1 running on the same VMWare platform
(different physical host) without this error.

Nothing obvious in the vmware logs.

Not sure where to start troubleshooting this?

Thank you
Scott...
