The only thing I can think of is that the partitions might be visible to
other OS's which aren't savvy about BSD disklabels. In my case, there is
no value in that as my disks stay with BSD machines.

I think there might be a size limitation in the BSD disklabel, which have been raised in GPT. But apart from that, nah. I only use BSD disklabels myself. I also run on machines that have never hear of MBR, and all of my disk is the C partition!
