Video streaming using bktr capture device

I have a video capture PCI card which is recognized as device bktr0 and
I am able to view captured video using xawtv and fxtv both, on 6.0 rc1,
i386.

Now I'd like to view this video on another machine on the network.

What are the ways to stream this video over network?

Once option I know is vlc, though that is not compiling for me and
otherwise also I think it's too heavy for this requirement.

Would ffserver / transcode be useful for such purpose? Any tips on how to
get them / any other packages work with bktr as input and streaming the
video will be useful.

Mayuresh
