Either the firmware is supposed to be installed by the installer or it
must be installed via a package. If the former, as seems likely, then
it should have been there, and there was circumstantial evidence that
I cited in my original report that it was. If so, then there was
another issue besides the absence of the correct firmware file.

As I've said, I've already moved on to a Linux distribution, so I
can't help any more with this than I already have.

I will close by saying that there has been no response to my comment
about the documentation problem. I think it's a serious issue and not
just in the wifi area. It does no good to produce good software that
is undocumented and therefore difficult or impossible to use.

 Good luck.
