I certainly have no objection (I think it would be great to have LDAP fully
supported 'out the box'). My only concern would be around platform support -
I'm not sure about -current, but OpenLDAP doesn't work for me with 4.0 on
sparc64 systems. I've compiled it (and its dependencies) both with native
threads and with GNU pth and both result in a slapd that dumps core a lot.
I haven't really had the tuits to investigate the cause though. Perhaps
it's better with -current and it's simplified threading model, but I
haven't been able to confirm.

That said, having OpenLDAP in base will hopefully result in any portability
issues being resolved pretty quickly.
