Re: Kernel based virtual machine

I strongly agree with this idea. I am using Qemu 1.1 on 6.0 BETA.
Guest systems with virtio support like NetBSD 6 are predestinated to
run with Qemu/KVM (virtio already works with plain qemu).

The advantages I see are

-much easier to set up in comarison to Xen
-not limited to 1 CPU for Dom0
-No special guest installation (Xen-Kernels for DomUs), Kernel images
separate from vDisks

There has been a simple kernel driver for qemu in the past (kqemu),
which has been dropped meanwhile. I saw some people made this run on
NetBSD/OpenBSD. KVM seems to be a little more advanced, enabling
things like SVM.

Regards,

Stephan
