the manual pages) via the in-base http or ftp servers
and read them remotely.

Serious, who needs this? I think this should be an option that's off by
default.

I think it's more a question of going with the times - almost
everything these days is HTML-based, and we need to take advantage of
that and be part of it, rather than being in denial of it.

that's a reason for having an upto-date man.netbsd.org (which it is not!),
not one of bloating every users' harddisk.
