Hello,
Until today, we have been running XEN/NetBSD on older Dell 2950 for some time now, and that has been working quite well. But now it's time to upgrade, and we are thinking of buying new hardware for running even more virtual servers. So I'm wondering if anybody have any good or bad experience running XEN/NetBSD on the bigger Dell 2900 servers, that they would like to share? :-)
TIA,

Hi Fredrik,

I'm running a NetBSD Xen test host on a Dell PE 1950-III with some success. NetBSD4's mfi driver lacks support for the PERC/6i RAID controller and the bnx driver also needs a newer build

I believe I saw that the PERC/6i controller support was submitted to current in the early 2008.

I've been running 4.99.72 for a month or so now and although dom0 has so far needed more RAM than I'd like, I believe some of the issues with the bnx driver may have been resolved recently, so I need to have another round of testing with it.

HTH,

Mike.
