What do people think about rrd to match the dec device name, or would
racd or similar play better with people?

I thought the problem was that it wasn't called cd, explicitly. If we can pick any other random name, then sure, go ahead. Although I'm pretty used to look for /dev/ra* for my CD anyway, so I don't really have a problem keeping it the way it is today either.
