Excellent, thanks for the info! Now I just have to choose a

Dave, you should realize that both of those are tiny VAXes...
How very true, but I don't think NetBSD/vax runs on the '7000 yet. ;)

No, but it do run on 86x0 (or atleast should, except that 5.0 beta didn't when I tried). And that is even bigger than a 7000. :-)

Very true, but I *have* a 7000. Wow I'd love to see NetBSD/vax on that.
Yeah. I have a 7000 too, and all the required documentation of the machine to start working. I just haven't had enough time, and I've started loosing interest in putting any time into it. I guess I could try 5.0 again now, and see what happens. But I suspect it won't work... :-(

(On the 8650, that is...)

  Ahh. :-(

Well, getting the 8650 to run is fairly easy. All we need to do is turn the key. And NetBSD is already on the machine. 4.99.something. The problem is that the system fails to find devices with the probing in 5.0. I also noticed that the KA86 code was changed last year, and the changes I had done was backed out. So now things are is a larger mess again (not that they weren't a mess even with my fixes).

And it gets tiring when things are in a constant state of change in ways that I don't even enjoy. Making a build of the world on that machine takes over a week after all. So I kindof is loosing interest. VMS is so much nicer compared to NetBSD of today. And faster...

The 7000 is almost just a turn of a key away from running. We need to hook up a console terminal, and possibly connect an ethernet cable. And turn on the storage works cab as well.
