X suntcx driver gives up with "Couldn't map BLIT space"

I have a SS4 and when attempting to start X, the suntcx driver logs"Couldn't map BLIT space" and fails. Is there something wrong with mymachine? Do I need more RAM? I have 32MB.

I was trying to run 7.1 but I seem to remember this being an issue with6.something last time I tried netbsd on this machine.
