How old is this iMac?  If it's RevA, it *does* have adb but the connector
is not populated on the mainboard.  We used one of these as a demo system
for NetBSD at tradeshows years ago and IIRC I had to build kernels for it
which omitted adb entirely to get usb console keyboard to work.
