I am yet to try it on NetBSD.

So far I was using Raspbian. Using any player other than either omx or vlc
(CPU usage is very less when these two run) the CPU used to get heated up
for videos of 1080p played for over a few minutes, resulting in
thermometer symbol appearing. I do not have a heatsink or a fan.

Part of the reason is the above. Part of the reason is just for the fun of
doing it!

I'll start using NetBSD on the device once I build even non-accelerated
video playback if it doesn't result in overheating. Nevertheless I'd like
to try and keep improving things if possible.
