Uh, aren't the official builds done on 9.0?

They would normally be, but my understanding is that pkgbuild has updated to a 9 along with branch past the bugfix, with libkver to fake 9.0. While I am only aware of the bug messing up rust, it seems serious and best for everyone using 9 for any reason to have updated to a version new enough to have the fix.

I have no idea about the armv7/aarch64 builders.

But I am quite sympathetic to a notion that pkgsrc should just work on 9.0
