This NetBSD-amiga specific problem because it works fine with NetBSD-i386.

I found two sollutions:

1.) Use "su" to login as "root" and start "xconsole" manually.
2.) Use this "replacement" in your ".xinitrc":

xterm -geometry 80x9+0+0 -font 6x13bold -title xconsole -e tail -f 
/var/log/messages &
