Well, that's quite easy to patch IMHO. Just extract the VISUAL environment
and, if that isn't set, the EDITOR variable and launch the user's favorite
editor. There are more than enough simple examples of system tools that
already do this in the NetBSD sources.
Maybe it's worth giving feedback to the program's author that this would
be a lot more comfortable. (hell, most user probably /expect/ this
reasonably standardised behaviour by now :D )
