Could you send me your config.lua? I've tested with the default
config on NetBSD quite a bit and it seems to work ok (just the usual
hangs when performing too many builds in bhyve). Others will know
better if there are specific limitations with e.g. null mounts on
NetBSD, and whether e.g. complicated nested layouts could cause hangs.
Coming back to this, having tested this quite a bit I think this is just
an issue with null mounts on NetBSD. Even in simple tests where I e.g.
mount a bunch of loopback mounts, ls them, then unmount, I'm seeing the
system grinding to a standstill and sometimes hanging.
For example right now I'm trying to simply unmount a bunch of null
mounts (not using bob), none of which are nested, and:
PID USERNAME PRI NICE SIZE RES STATE TIME WCPU CPU COMMAND
0 root 124 0 0K 350M CPU/4 40:33 57.28% 57.28% [system]
on an otherwise completely idle 16 core / 64GB system.
As bob tries to do everything in parallel this may be pushing it. I'm
running 10.1, but I don't see any changes to nullfs in 11.
Ideas on how to improve this welcome.
