This is relevant information :)

Early February cantor was updated to 23.08.4 and this seems to have
fixed the problem.

You could try if just pulling the latest version of cantor from
pkgsrc-current fixes the problem - if yes, we can pull up the update.

Or you try adding
CMAKE_ARGS+=   -DBUILD_TESTING=OFF
to the pkgsrc Makefile of math/cantor for your checkout, perhaps that
fixes the problem.

Or you wait for the pkgsrc-2024Q1 branch.
