I'm interested in a software-only Mesa too, and llvmpipe would be a plus.
In my case it's for running on platforms where we have a framebuffer but
no support for the GPU (e.g. most ARM SoCs).

I managed to build mesa with llvmpipe some time ago, but it was very hackish.
