I am using FreeBSD/amd64.
I managed to get pkgsrc to work. You were right, the compiler shipped in base wasn't being used.

Anyway here's the output of the failed bootstrap process.

I never changed my default compiler but I had gcc48 installed as a dependency. Removing then bootstrapping worked. I guess pkgsrc bootstrapper defaults to gcc...
