pkgsrc-2015Q2 packages for OS X now available
I'm pleased to announce that binary packages for OS X based on
pkgsrc-2015Q2 are now available.
The major changes since 2015Q1 are:
- Packages are now installed under the /opt/pkg prefix instead of the
previous /usr/pkg. This ensures we are compatible with the "System
Integrity Protection" feature introduced in El Capitan / 10.11.
- Many package options have been tweaked in order to enable more
features by default.
- The signed packages support we introduced in 2015Q1 has been
extended to HTTPS support from our download site. Simply update
your repository URLs to be https://pkgsrc.joyent.com/ and get end
to end encryption and verification.
- Many package updates and additions from the pkgsrc developers have
taken us to nearly 12,000 binary packages.
Installation instructions for OS X are here:
