pkg_rr uses pkg_chk to generate the list of packages needing update.
So:

 - make sure you have cleared out all work directorties
 - run pkg_chk -uq (I think) to see what's out of date
 - save the pkg_rr output and go back and see if MesaLib was tehre

Of course, you have to run pkg_rr after updating your pkgscr bits.  And
that sort of goes with having only one copy of pkgsrc.
