On a machine with:

ci@olive:~$ psrinfo -pv
The physical processor has 1 virtual processor (0)
  x86 (AuthenticAMD 10FF0 family 15 model 31 step 0 clock 2010 MHz)
        AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3200+ [ Socket: 939 ]
ci@olive:~$ isainfo -k
amd64

it does not work.

On the other one:

ci@uksup4:~$ psrinfo -pv
The physical processor has 2 virtual processors (0 1)
  x86 (AuthenticAMD 40F13 family 15 model 65 step 3 clock 2400 MHz)
        Dual-Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 2216 [ Socket: F(1207) ]
The physical processor has 2 virtual processors (2 3)
  x86 (AuthenticAMD 40F13 family 15 model 65 step 3 clock 2400 MHz)
        Dual-Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 2216 [ Socket: F(1207) ]
ci@uksup4:~$ isainfo -k
amd64

it works OK.

Both systems are

$ cat /etc/release
                       OpenSolaris Development snv_123 X86
