build failure: multimedia/gstreamer0.10

Building multimedia/gstreamer0.10 with pkgsrc HEAD on amd64-5.99.01, I
get

        checking for bison... 
/usr/pkgsrc/multimedia/gstreamer0.10/work/.tools/bin/bison
        checking bison version 2.4.1 >= 1.875... Argument "^B^D^A" isn't 
numeric in numeric lt (<) at - line 1.
        configure: error: no *** Error
        code 1

My version of bison is up to date, I believe -- I rcompiled it earlier
today from up-to-date pkgsrc.
