native libiconv on Solaris

Hi!

I have a hard time understanding

converters/libiconv/builtin.mk

Does it accept a native /usr/include/iconv.h only, if it finds the 
strings in the different BUILTIN_FIND_GREP.* variables at the top? I'd 
like to use (or at least try to use) the native libiconv of Solaris 
10/i86pc. Or is that version not "compatible enough" with the GNU version?
