I've updated to 4.23 (looks like 4.24 is on the way). Something to
mention about your patch: since Lua is multi-versioned, we'd express
its inclusion a little differently. The upstream states they support
5.3 and 5.4, so I restricted it to those two versions.

(I found that the pre-existing 4.16 version didn't even build for me,
but this version does.)

I don't use this package (and I'd guess few pkgsrc developers do),
which is a reason why this PR lingered. Please let us know if this
update does indeed work for you as expected.

(Sorry about the commit log accumulator mangling your name, evidently
it doesn't handle UTF-8 properly.)
