Re: Most simple filesystem with content checksums?
Hello!

Hence I've since been trying to use filesystems that have content
checksums. On Linux, I've been using BTRFS in part because it seems a
tiny bit leaner than ZFS (sorry if that is incorrect), but even that one
seems kind of overengineered for only having content checksums. I don't
care for snapshots, raid handling, or anything else.
Please note, that Linux offers also 3rd method - integritysetup(8) - it
works on block level - device mapper - (basically adding metadata with
checksums for each block - to make it space efficient, these metadata
blocks are "clustered" (grouped metadata for several blocks until they
fill whole block). Integritysetup allows checksums for complete
filesystems that do not have them (like ext4 that added metadata
checksums but not data checksums).
Curious if, for example, RAIDframe could do something similar? There is
ECC mentioned in manual on
https://www.pdl.cmu.edu/RAIDframe/raidframebook.pdf but it seems to be
not related to RAIDframe features.
