There can be any number of things that influence performance. For
a benchmark, you need to know what the moving parts are, and for
that reason, a benchmark usually tries to limit the number of
pieces that can influence it.
For a start, it would be helpful if you could export a dedicated
disk on the NFS server to a single client and test read and write
speeds. Also write down the exact command you use for testing.
