I use extensively ZFS on NetBSD, a small (400M) boot UFS partition: / a modified /etc/rc.d/zfs startup, and everything else in ZFS I also used a patched version of zfs, that does not eat all memory...  I also use sync=disabled... it works great with servers that have 20TB+  these servers have 100+ users using VNC , 64 cores, 128 Threads... usually runs XEN.  ZFS is a must. the ONLY bug I found is that when you access a snapshot, it mounts a snapshot but never umounts it... if someone is interested, I can post the ARC patch  here... it imports zfs using the -d /dev/wedges   to find the datasets...
