I'm using IPsec with racoon and IKEv1. So making it work isn't
that difficult. But yes, someone(TM) should implement a working
IKEv2 solution.
N.B. there was some effort to port StrongSwan. I'm not sure if that
could be considered easier to use or if it was ported successfully.
StrongSwan also supports IKIEv2.
