Re: tarr issues with physical tape drive ?

So out of curiosity I installed a few successively older releases to test.  

Running 7.2 I am able to tar up /usr/lib, extract from tape, and all of the md5’s matched.

8.3 was close, the tar extract completed - however a handful of files had differing md5’s.

Should I open a bug on this ?  I’m happy to try to troubleshoot if there’s value in figuring this out.
