hi,
I just tried on a NetBSD 10.0 formal release in a VMware machine.
With both blender packages available it crashed in the same way you say.

trying to ktruss it i see:
"llvm (version 0xd00) found no intrinsic for llvm.x86.vcv.... going to 
crash ... \n"
