amd64: disable VESA madness
I highly desire the old VGA console for VMware (and general use), especially as my eyes get older.
(I can’t believe I just typed that; I started using NetBSD/i386 at v0.9; I’m 52 now)
However, in NetBSD v9.1, “vesa” does not seem to be a valid command option in the boot prompt or boot.cfg
I found “text”, but after converting the console back to something usable, after jumping to the kernel, it goes back to VESA again.
Clearly there are some ideas coming in 9.99, but what of now in 9.1?
I’m booting via UEFI in dk0, to raid0 (in dk1) which holds boot blocks, kernel, boot and boot.cfg into a root fs in raid1 (dk2) with the rest on LVM in raid2 (dk3).
Do I need to set the parameter with the EFI boot program in …/boot/NetBSD/boot.cfg in my EFI partition…?
Or am I missing something; usually man( 1 ) has the answer, but it’s lying or I am missing something crucial...
